Held at Bryggeriet Malmö Skatepark in Sweden, this is one of the biggest and best events dedicated exclusively to the Vert skateboarding discipline. It's a 3 day event with music, art, food and drinks that will assure that you have an amazing time while watching the best current vert skateboarders.
The main goal of the event is to create a space for likeminded people that love skateboarding and mostly vert, the event has been organized yearly ever since 2006, promoting and keeping alive a style that almost came to an end with the rise of street skateboarding; the event is not as focused as many other events on the money but only on the meeting of new people and skaters that enjoy a good Vert session!
The best old school names like Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero and Christian Hosoi and some of the new school dudes and dudettes like Lizzie Armanto, Alana Smith and Julz Lynn, and upcoming rising stars like Evan Doherty, Tate Carew and Sam Becket, just to name a few, are some of the faces you can see performing and even walking around the event giving fans a quick selfie while eating a nice hot dog!
Vans and the Vert Attack
Vans teamed up and joined as one of the main promoters and organizers of the event, they take care of all of the entertainment structure with musical guests and art exhibitions, they always promote you having a good time and they will sell you beer as an exception (because of the event) as long as you are over 18 years old, there are also food courts dedicated to healthy snacks and amazing local food.
Bryggeriet Skate Organization
Bryggeriet is a non profit organization founded in Malmö 1998, ever since, they have been managing and developing skateparks all over Sweden! And promoting the skateboarding world in the country! Bryggeriet, Stapelbäddsparken, Sibbarp Skatepark, Oxie Skatepark, Kroksbäck Skatepark, and Åkarp Skatepark all in their book! they design and build new ones and organize other events than the Vert Attack, they are also a huge part of the development of the Ultra Bowl, Bryggeriet Street, Betongcupen and more events, but one of the most important and innovative ones is the fact that the organization is working along high schools to bring skateboarding as a regular subject! Can you imagine that? Being taught how to skate in school! These guys are planting seeds for the future right from the start!
There you have it my dudes and dudettes if you ever visit Sweden and love skateboarding; make sure to do it during the Vert Attack!! You won’t regret it!
