Difficult times for skateboarding this year, many events including the Olympics have been postponed or canceled in the past few months, but we are pretty sure you have been getting all of the information and all of that good SHIT® related to your favorite discipline, skateboarding!

We have found methods to keep ourselves busy and even learn new ways of entertainment on wheels while at home, but some of the pros are already hitting the streets, restrictions are already being lifted in some countries and before we can say “FIRST TRY!” We will all be taking over the streets again and keeping an eye out on the guys that are making it happen, those we bet we will be seeing crazy SHIT® from once this is all over!

That's why today we bring you the top 10 skaters that have been making noise with their boards ang winning contests all over the world, so you can have a fresh mind on what's coming and from whom it's coming from!

 

10. Shane O'Neill

Australian professional skateboarder, “Nugget” has been skating for over 10 years now, sponsored by the age of 14, O'Neill is what most people call a natural and also a member of the SLS "9 Club" meaning judges scored him an average of 9 or better in the Street League competition, something not many skaters are able to pull off! In 2019 He started his own skateboarding brand called April Skateboards along Yuto Horigome and Diego Najera.

Current 10th with a chance of going up the ladder once the events begin and points start adding up!

 

9. Lizzie Armanto

Elizabeth Marika Armanto started skating in 2007, she is best known for her ability in the vert and bowl discipline, this dudette has been getting a lot of attention lately due to amazing performances and contests, especially in last years Vans Park Series Pro Tour. She is also known for being under Hawks wing, being a part of the Birdhouse team and has even got a couple of appearances in the game's franchise as a playable character!

 

8. Jagger Eaton

Eaton started skating at the age of 4, under the guidance of his father, who owned a skateboarding school that trained juniors for the X Games competitions, he has proven how that specialized training works being the youngest ever X Games competitor! He also won the Tampa Am at age 13th, so you can imagine the skills this dude has developed over the years, he could be argued to be in the best age for a skateboarder and we know there will be much more talk of this dude in the future.

 

7. Cory Juneau

Funnily enough, he started skating at the age of 7, also the number of his current world ranking spot. He has insane skills for parks, pools and bowls developing them through his career! His abilities pretty much landed him a spot in this year's Olympics, (currently postponed obviously) but we are pretty sure this dude will get a lot to talk about once the Olympics are finally on. Fingers crossed, soon!

 

6. Tom Scharr

  • Age: 20
  • Country: United States

He is best known for being the first-ever skater to land a “1080”, an achievement that led him to be the youngest gold medalist in the 2012 Asia X Games in Shanghai where the trick was performed.

Schaar was a nine-time X Games Medalist before turning 18 and most recently he became the first addition to the U.S.A Skateboarding National Team. He is currently on the run to become a part of the Olympics, represent the USA and take home the gold!

Current holder of world records, we are sure Scharr will be on the hunt for some more!

 

5. Kelvin Hoefler

Currently 5 X Game medals holder, the Brazilian skater won his first contest at the age of 9 in Brazil and has not stopped ever since! He most recently displayed amazing skills getting the 5th place Tampa Pro Men's Street Finals, 2nd Place in the World Championship SLS in 2019 and the winner of Norway’s X Games in 2018 proves that he is worthy of being among the top 5 and being part of one of the most iconic skate crews (PP) proves this dude is in it for the long run.

4. Luan Oliveira

  • Stance: Regular
  • Age: 29
  • Country: Brazil

Another Brazilian flag waving in the top 5 of the world rank, Oliveira started skating at the age of 10, his life took a turn by the age of 17 when he won a contest to be able to travel to California and got his first break in world-renowned competitions! He turned Pro for Flip Skateboards in 2010 and became an SLS Pro in 2011 being also a part of the 9 club, which he has achieved over 10 times, the dude is best known for always trying the hardest tricks in competitions, landing them beautifully and an overall performance that almost always gets him in the top places in competitions.

 

3. Alex Sorgente

  • Age: 22

2017 and 2018 Skateboard Park gold medalist and top 5 finisher in all five of his X Games Park starts, Sorgente is one of the most prominent names in skateboarding in current days! He got his first pro win at the Australian Bowl Championships in 2013 and raised the bar next year at the Prague Mystic Cup in 2014. Most recently, he went on to take first place at the Vans Park Series in Suzhou, China and the first place overall at the 2018 Vans Park Series.

Alessandro Sorgente is definitely in the run for the 1st spot in the world rank.

 

2. Pedro Barros

3rd Brazilian on the world rank, part of one of those times when people got a real fear of the Brazilians in contests due to how good they performed! By 2008, Barros was already getting ahead of all AMs by winning the X Games Skateboarding Vert amateur event and from there he has maintained as one of the most renowned figures in this particular discipline.

Six gold medals and three silver medals made Barros one of the favorite performances of the Xgames, and we figure they will continue to be for a long time.

No need for introductions, overall champion at competition series in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2017, and 2019. He is also the highest-paid skateboarder in the world, going from the dreadlocks to luxurious vehicles, Houston is known for being one of the most awarded skateboarders in history and also one of the most influential of all times, one thing's for sure, this guy has the numbers to prove that he is currently the number 1 skateboarder, ranked worldwide with overall 65,190 points scored and over 1 million dollars in earnings in some of the most important skateboarding events through his career!
