If you have ever skated you probably know how important a pair of shoes are, and these seem to offer something close to perfection. While skating we need to feel comfortable, tight, have good damping, grip and we can not forget about style either.
CATIBA Pro is footwear by CARIUMA, "Engineered for durability, ultimate comfort and the best grip possible," its description says. It's a handmade vulcanized sneaker; the stitched midsole has a sticky grip outsole with raw natural gum rubber to take hold of the shoe, called Memory Foam Insole.
Side Traction for the movements on the sides, different cuts where the brand added a triple-stitch upper at the flick point; something important is the laces that should be strong and lengthy with debossed metal aglets and eyelets.
This shoe comes in varieties where you can choose between gray, white with coffee sole or just white and of course black with white sole or just all black. "We believe style, comfort & sustainability should be synonymous," CARIUMA highlights.
“Get a Pair of Sneakers, Plant a Pair of Trees”
The new CATIBA Pro was created to meet the skateboarders needs, and furthermore to provide the nature with a tree with each pair of footwear you buy. "For every pair of sneakers purchased, we will plant a pair of trees in the Brazilian Rainforest to directly aid reforestation and the preservation of natural habitats," CARIUMA said.
CARIUMA is a brand from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, its founders David and Fernando wanted to promote a type of brand that "would better serve people and the planet," they explained. To them "big corporations weren’t socially responsible and didn’t really care about sustainability in an active way."
That's why they have been working on coming together with nature, but remembering that their sneakers are for a sport public and specifically for skateboarding, a sport that demands high quality and convenience to have a unique experience skateboarding. "We empower conscious consumers to buy quality over quantity (the only true answer to sustainability)," CARIUMA explained.
This initiative looks great in this season, where woods, animals and the environment need it the most. Brazil is considered the lungs of the whole world, so it's pretty important to contribute if we can. Mixing nature with skateboarding in this way seems like a great way to contribute with thr cause, and at the same time get some great shoes.
