Sometimes in life we must make important choices to decide who we will become for the rest of our life. In most of those occasions, all we can do is to take a leap of faith and hope for the best.
For Leticia Bufoni this was the case, as a child she had to decide if she was going to become a professional football player or a skater, and in her case as a Brazilian where football is the king of sports, she had to face her own father and prove to him that she had what it takes to be a pro skater. In today’s SHIT®, we are going to review her profile and we will get to know more on how this woman became one of the greatest skaters from Brazil and of our generation.

Leticia Bufoni was born in Sao Pablo, while she grew up, she fell in love with football and skateboarding at the same time. At the beginning, she practiced both and had the dream to become a professional in both disciplines.
However, for her dad, she should only focus on football because in his mind she had more chances to have a professional career as a football player, so he prohibited her to skate. Nevertheless, for Leticia, skateboarding was as good of a career option as football; This was how she got into a confrontation with her dad. She had to skate hidden form her dad. It all ended up one day when he found her skating and decided to break her board.
Dad’s Approval: Skateboarding Can Pay the Bills
After the board’s incident Leticia decided that the only way to end the war with her dad was to prove to him that she was a talented skater and that she could also live from it as well as from football. She took her dad to several contest in Brazil, in many of those, she ended up in first place. After that her dad was convinced, she had what it takes and she could live from skateboarding. The war was over, and her dad would become one of her biggest supporters for the rest of her career.
The Decision, a Leap of Fate
As she began to win trophies and medals in Brazil, she got invited to participate in the X Games in California at only fourteen years. This was supposed to be a short trip, but as she got a couple of sponsors, she and her dad determined that the best for her career was to stay there. At this point in her life she still had the ambition of becoming both: a professional football player and skateboarder. However, after some time, she realized that as a professional athlete she was only going to make it by focusing all her energy on one sport.
Skate Won the Race
Luckily for her (as she succeeded with it) and for all us (who get to enjoy her skills) she picked stake. By focusing on skate, the trophies came back. The rest is history: She became a pro skater, has won many titles such as the Street League, X Games and Mystic Sk8 Cup among many others. Besides that, she is a worldwide influencer. She followed her dream and achieved it.
Regarding football, she might not be a pro, but she still follows it as a good Brazilian and is well known for having good relationships with Neymar Jr. and other great players all around the world.
