Stair ledges are an amazing way to improve your skateboarding level, this particular obstacle is one of the favorites in parks and street skateboarding, given the fact that you can find them almost everywhere! But we advise you to not practice on this obstacle especially if you find it in the streets since these ledges are NOT designed to skate on (the ones on the streets), and what better place to have your own skate friendly stair ledge than on your driveway or back yard to practice on right?! Let’s get into this SHIT®!

The wood and hardware can be found at your local Home Depot. Most of them carry the coping and threshold material.

Search online for the steel fabricators or salvage steel. There are plenty that could meet your needs and at a very good price.

We also recommend pressure-treated lumber, paint and a tarp to protect the wood and metal from rain and other weather conditions. You may want to invest in a protective material for the surface too. Try Skate Lite or Ramp Armor! Keep in mind that treated wood could contain chemicals with a poisonous pesticide.
